The winter weather has hit our Peninsula this week. It's a tough situation for most that aren't use to preparing for this kind of weather event. It is different from a hurricane because it brings cold bitter temperatures with the potential to be left with no heat. Some of us have generators and are just hunkered down binge watching shows and going about our day. Some have chosen to stay in their homes and layer up and brave the cold and some have went to hotels and shelters.
No matter what path you have gone down this week please remember one thing, the cold isn't going to last! Today, Tuesday, we are in the home stretch of making our way to warmer weather.
Instead of losing patience upon others, embrace the slow down and still enjoy all the beauty around you.
We walked the beach yesterday when it was 21 degrees, bundled up, a little cold still, but we observed birds grouping up and helping each other along, ships floating in water and changing with the wind, waves slowly making their way to the beach and a beautiful clear sky that brought it all together.
Then we went home and crawled under a blanket with hot tea and watched a movie, with no interruptions. Just peacefulness of enjoying down time.
Most moved here for a reason, use these times to rekindle those reasons!
